PEACEPLUS ASPIRE meet with North South Ministerial Council

PEACEPLUS ASPIRE took part in the most recent North South Ministerial Council Education Sectoral, highlighting the projects impactful work in shared education and cross-border collaboration.
Through Shared Education, the PEACEPLUS ASPIRE project brings children and young people together to build understanding, respect and lasting connections across communities, supporting peace and reconciliation. PEACEPLUS ASPIRE helps to create a society where differences are celebrated and communities thrive together.
The meeting was attended by Minister Hildegarde Naughton TD (TAG), Minister Paul Givan MLA (TAG) and Minister John O’Dowd MLA (TAG). Pupils from Fairgreen National School, St Mary’s PS Teemore and St Aidan’s High School performed for the Ministers, showcasing the power of creativity and music in connecting communities.
PEACEPLUS ASPIRE (Advancing Shared Partnerships through Inclusive Relationships in Education) is a collaboration between Léargas, the Education Authority (lead partner), Early Years- the organisation for young children, National Childhood Network (NCN) and the Fermanagh Trust. The project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). It aims to provide direct and sustained contact between children and young people from all backgrounds.
